Engineering Is Fun
Like usual, I have taken far too long updating this blog. I’ll keep it short.
School is going fine. A couple of things have taken me by surprise, though. My initial thoughts were that Calculus was going to be hard, but I think I have cought up well, especially considering that I have not done any college level math for 6 years. The big surprise has been General Chemistry. I really have no interest in chemistry at all. The teacher, though a nice guy, is one of the most boring teachers I have ever had. He literally teaches straight from an outline he has prepared for the class. He writes the points from the outline on the board as he talks about them, so it’s incentive enough to pay attention only to copy down what he writes every few minutes. I am going to spend a good chunk of time tomorrow evening reading the textbook again with the primary focus being comprehension. I may not understand the material or the processes, but if I can pass tests by memorizing the content of the text, that is enough for me.
Bible Survey is easy. The professor just uses huge Powerpoint slides when he teaches. The material is not that difficult to grasp. Much of what he tests on is just straight memorization.
Engineering is the only class I really care about. The class is fun and the teacher is awesome and really seems to be genuinely excited about the material.
That’s it for now. I’ll try to get the frequency of posts a bit more “regular” and frequent. Maybe once a week to start?
Later.
